Fake News

Abstracts

As a country, we’ve made – and continue to make – decisions based on limited information that can be taken out of context. We go to war, we travel to far-away planets, we elect (or don’t elect) a candidate, all based on a framed view of a subject, subtracted from its origin and surroundings. FAKE NEWS consists of landscapes made up of what would normally be forgotten or overlooked surfaces, removed from their context. Recast as exotic landscapes from other worlds, these otherwise banal subjects are elevated. Their origin and their context are rendered meaningless; what is in the frame becomes the truth.
